How the test call works

From your website to your phone in three steps

No account, no card and nothing to install. You hear exactly what your callers would.

  1. 1

    Enter your website

Echo reads your public pages: what you do, your services, your hours. No website? Start with your business name.

  2. 2

Name it and pick a voice

Give your receptionist a name callers will hear and choose the voice that suits your business.

  3. 3

    Answer the phone

It rings you within seconds. Talk to it as one of your customers: ask about prices, try to book, throw it a curveball.

After the call

A receptionist that does the work, not just takes messages

Sign up and the receptionist you just heard starts answering your own number, with your calendar, your CRM and your rules.

Create your account
  • Answers every call, day and night

Evenings, weekends and while you’re with a customer. Several calls at once, never an engaged tone.

  • Books into your calendar

Checks your Google or Microsoft calendar during the call, offers real times and books the appointment.

  • Keeps your CRM up to date

Looks callers up, saves their details and notes what they wanted, in the tools you already use.

  • Texts the caller a confirmation

A text with the booking or next step goes out straight after the call.

  • Puts urgent calls through

Calls that need a person go straight through to the number you choose, with the caller’s details.

  • Recording, transcript and summary

Every call is saved with a summary and what was done, so nothing gets lost between shifts.

One call, handled start to finish

Echo One doesn't just take a message. It does the work your front desk would do, while the caller is still on the line.

Answers and understands

Greets callers in your business’s name, recognises returning customers and works out what they need.

Questions about the test call

Is the test call really free?

Yes. No account and no card. Enter your website, pick a name and voice, and your receptionist rings you once so you can hear it.

How does it know about my business?

It reads the public pages of your website (what you do, your services, your opening hours) and works from that. Anything it can’t find, it handles like a good receptionist: it takes a message and promises a callback, instead of guessing.

What happens to my phone number?

We use it to call you once. With your permission the Echo One team may follow up about getting you set up. We never sell it, and it isn’t called again for a test.

Which countries can I get a call in?

The United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States and Canada, and Australia. Mobiles and landlines work; premium-rate and short numbers can’t be called.

Is that what my real receptionist would be like?

It’s the same voice and the same platform. Once you sign up you shape it properly: your exact greeting, what it books, who gets urgent calls, your calendar and CRM, and test calls before any customer hears it.

Show 9 more questions
How long does it take to go live after I sign up?

Most of the setup is a short conversation with Echo about your business. Then you test it, connect a number (or forward your existing one) and put it live.

What does Echo One do on a call?

It answers in your business’s name, works out what the caller needs, and deals with it: answers questions from your own information, books or moves appointments in your calendar, takes details into your CRM, and texts the caller a confirmation. Urgent calls go straight through to the number you choose.

Will callers know they are speaking to an AI?

Yes. Echo One introduces itself as your AI receptionist and never claims to be a person. Agents that are set up to say otherwise are refused before they can go live.

How do I set it up?

Mostly by talking. Tell Echo about your business, what people call about and when you are open; it designs the receptionist, shows you how it will handle calls, and you test it in your browser before any real caller hears it. Then you connect a phone number and put it live.

Can it book appointments?

Yes, into Google Calendar or Microsoft 365. It offers times inside your opening hours, checks the live calendar again before booking, and can cancel or move a caller’s own appointments. Reminders can be sent by text.

What does it cost?

A monthly plan that includes credits, and credits are spent by the minute while calls are connected. You can top up at any time, and you see every charge in your account. Plans and prices are listed above.

Can it speak languages other than English?

Yes. Each receptionist speaks one of 16 languages, or listens to the caller and answers in whichever of your chosen languages they speak: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Hindi, Russian or Japanese, switching if the caller does. Polish, Turkish, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Korean and Swedish are available as a receptionist’s one language.

What about my existing phone number?

You get a new number in Echo One, and you can forward your existing line to it, for every call or only when you do not pick up.

What happens to call recordings and customer data?

Recordings and transcripts are stored encrypted and belong to your organisation. You can export everything, or delete your organisation and its data, from Settings.
